Proto Labs has added a range of services designed to address the on-demand manufacturing needs of the growing low-volume, high-mix product segment. Offerings include two injection molding options for prototyping and on-demand production parts. The company says that the service offers customers more competitive part pricing along with guaranteed lifetime mold maintenance and ownership.
In addition, Proto Labs is opening a metrology lab to provide first-article inspection reports, Cpks and digital inspection reports which include precision surface scans with a color map for a direct CAD-to-scan comparison to identify dimensional variances on parts.
