91ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ÎÛ’s long-running The View From My Shop column now has a companion video series. Explore and its automation strategies — from robots to a cell-controller managing four machines — with director of manufacturing Cassandra Metell and vice president of manufacturing Kyle Dunaway in the first episode:
The View From My Shop will explore the world of modern machining, delivering an inside look at how shops large and small make parts. Viewers will learn from shop owners, machinists and engineers about the technologies, people and processes that keep today’s shops successful.
“The aim of this series is to celebrate the people and culture of American machine shops,” says Brent Donaldson, executive editor for 91ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ÎÛ. “I think there is still a misperception about what manufacturing looks like in this country, so The View From My Shop series allows us to take viewers directly onto shop floors to see the reality of machine shops today. I think people are going to be very surprised when they see how modern and high-tech these facilities can be, and how each shop has its own unique identity.”
