Jergens Inc. has opened its FastForward machining efficiency technology center in Cleveland, Ohio. The regional center will focus on the Maker/Manufacturing movement and its significance to the nation’s economy. The center is intended to feature advanced manufacturing technology for demonstration and education, hosting regular events such as seminars and classes.

“With this dedicated space, we are further stepping up our efforts to promote training and education across the board, including customers, suppliers, partners, students and the community that serves manufacturing”, says Jack Schron, president of Jergens. “We are looking to expand the knowledge base for the vocational workforce and those pursuing a career in manufacturing, and to encourage creativity to think, make and grow.”

Haas Automation (Oxnard, California) is partnering with Jergens by providing its newest VF4 SS vertical machining center to FastForward along with the process technology that goes with it. In addition, toolholding and measurement equipment manufacturer Parlec (Fairport, New York) is also providing its products to the center.
