Mitsui Seiki offers the Vertex 550-5XB blade center for producing turbine blades from forgings, castings, barstock or solid billets of titanium and stainless steel. With a footprint of approximately 65 sq. ft., the verical machining center provides a working envelope measuring 550 × 600 × 500 mm with rapid traverse rates of 48 m/min. in all linear axes. The A and B axes are represented in a rotating and tilting table. The A axis tilts from +45 to -90 degrees, while the B axis offers virtually infinite positioning points. The rotary axes feature integrated robot and cellular manufacturing capability said to enhance manual and automatic load/unload operations. The machine is controlled by a FANUC control system.
