CGS North America's Elite CAD/CAM software, CAM-Tool version 5, is specially developed for mold and die machining as well as high speed machining, hard milling and medical applications.
The MX-S5 option is available for applications that require a five-axis simultaneous output to minimize length-to-diameter ratios of tooling. A Z-level finishing path is capable of machining undercuts, and as well as a swarf-cutting profile is also included. A CL editor capable of turning three-axis tool paths into five-axis simultaneous tool paths is said to simply the learning curve. 3D offset cutting allows a more efficient “staying on the surface” machining for larger tooling, the company says.
