The ChilAire Lite system from Cool Clean Technologies is designed to be a cost-effective way for companies to implement CO2 cooling into their machining processes. The system uses an external nozzle to blast dry CO2 crystals into the cut zone, keeping the tool and part at an ambient temperature ranging from 65°F to 80°F and reducing friction.
For shops with multiple machines, the system can be portable, but it is also M-code compatible for permanent installation. It is effective on machines without enclosures.
The system is designed to be a non-toxic alternative to common coolants used in manufacturing. It provides a quality finish at increased speeds and feeds and can prolong tool life, the company says.
