According to the company, the smooth outer TiN coating reduces cutting forces, resists adhesion and prevents sudden fracture. An Al2O3 layer is said to resist crater wear and dissipates heat, leading to longer tool life. The company says the columnar TiCN layer also assists in increasing toughness and resistance to wear. As a result, these products offer stable processing of steel in which continuous cutting and interrupted cutting processes are involved.

Also offered is the PS chipbreaker, which complements the CA55-series grades to enhance reliability in light to medium roughing. The chipbreaker and the coated carbide grades are offered in an array of geometries.
