Available in a variety of lengths to accommodate ER-11, ER-16, ER-20, ER-25, ER-32 and ER-40 collets, Royal Products’ precision ER collet chucks produce runout of less than 0.0001" TIR between the OD taper and ID socket. When used in conjunction with Royal Ultra-Precision ER collets, the chucks can offer system accuracy to 0.0003" TIR or better. According to the company, this level of accuracy helps ensure an evenly distributed chip load to extend the life of the cutting tool.

The chucks incorporate a tapered shank ground to AT-3 specifications to accommodate the machine tool spindle taper, while a ground clamping nut promotes roundness. These features are conducive to reduced vibration, increased rigidity and high clamping forces on the cutting tool, says the company. Each collet chuck is balanced to G2.5 at 18,000 rpm.
