The latest NC software for Heidenhain's iTNC 530 NC contains more than a dozen functions for machine manufacturers and users, including options for Adaptive Feed Control (AFC) and Global Program Settings (GPS).
AFC capability enables users to adapt the contouring feed rate to spindle performance. This can provide advantages in machining quality, velocity and the permissible usage time of tools, the company says.
Introduced for tool and mold making, GPS allows users to enter new data into forms that are superimposed over old data when the program runs. Functions range from swapping or mirroring axes to entering additional additive data.
Other enhancements include additional conversational languages, a TNCguide in the help system, improved smart.NC remote capabilities, improved dynamic collision monitoring and expanded part programs.
