Southwester Industries’ ProtoTrak Parasolid converter is designed to enable users to quickly generate ProtoTrak programs from solid 3D Parasolid CAD files. Available for most ProtoTrak SMX controls, the convertor is designed to be easy to learn and use, and is said to reduce the time needed to generate ProtoTrak programs.
 
Events are programmed in the desired order by selecting the appropriate geometry and corresponding event type. A two-pane window interface displays a programming page on one side and a 2D-representation of the part on the other. Z Rapid and Z End dimensions are loaded into the programming page by clicking on the desired part geometry, and the convertor automatically accounts for drill point lengths when Z End dimensions are loaded.
 
The Event Groups feature enables simultaneous generation of multiple events for similar circular geometries. The converter takes the applicable event data from the original geometry and uses it to automatically complete the programming of the events for the remaining similar geometries. The Chaining feature enables users to define the entire geometry of the periphery when programming pockets or profiles. Connected events are loaded in automatically.
