Able to face-groove virtually any diameter larger than 12 mm, the VHM series inserts have maximum groove depth of 40 mm. Available from Rouse-Arno, the inserts are available in two grades, the AK-40 and the AL-40. The AK-40 grade is constructed of solid micrograin carbide for machining aluminum, brass, copper, plastics and high-temperature alloys. The AL-40 grade is equipped with high-temperature coating for machining steel, stainless steel and cast steels.
Both grades feature through-coolant capability to cool the cutting edge and improve chip evacuation. With a ground design, the inserts are available in widths of 2, 2.5, 3 or 4 mm. Custom sizes are also offered.
