Inovatools’ SC SpeedMax drill is designed for drilling at high feed rates in INOX, tool steels and steel. With drilling dimensions of 3×D, 5×D and 8×D, the tool covers a range of applications. The internally-cooled tool is available in diameters ranging from 3.00 to 20.0 mm.
The drill’s cutting geometry enables high feed rates with reduced cutting forces. Thanks to the lifting frontal polished section and the six-surface tip, the SpeedMax is self-centering and generates chips with optimal shapes. This is important because the materials it is designed for are poor heat conductors, requiring chips to be removed quickly from the cutting zone.
The coating is designed for machining such materials, featuring heat and oxidation resistance and having an extremely low tendency to stick to metals, according to the company. According to Inovatools, benefits include improved wear behavior and longer service life compared with conventional drills.
