Heidenhain’s ND 200 series digital readouts (DROs) feature multiple inputs and a flexible configuration. Highlights of the ND 280 include a monochrome screen and standard functions that fulfill many measuring tasks, the company says. The ND 287 features a color screen and is modular in design. It can accept as many as four inputs, allowing easier toggling between multiple gages, sensors and encoders, the company says.
The ND 287 also incorporates three additional axis modules. Two of the axes are analog, which permits the connection of analog sensors (temperature, pressure and so on) and purely serial EnDat 2.2 units, which allow for the connection and use of absolute encoders. This DRO can also be integrated into an Ethernet system facilitating remote monitoring.
Also available on the ND 287 is statistical process control. It has the ability to write as many as 10,000 measured values to internal memory and evaluate them statistically.
Both models come equipped with a card for gage hookup. The models feature the ability to design functional equations to manage interconnected operations of multiple axes and soft keys, which provide benefits with regard to operation and parameter setting, the company says. The units can display both linear and angle/rotary encoders, as well as reading distance-coded reference marks. Encoders with EnDat 2.2 can be connected to both models.
The units are suitable for mounting in a 19" rack space.
