The Widia M 780 face milling cutter is fitted with square, negative indexable inserts with eight cutting edges. According to the company, its positive cutting angle promotes a smooth cut, low cutting force and low power consumption. The four coated grades TN2510 (for machining GTS and GTW cast iron); TN5515 (for GGG with low/average hardness as high as GGG50, as well as GG and GGV); TN7525 (for GGG increased/high hardness from GGG50 and steel); and TN450 (for GGG increased/high hardness from GGG50 and steel) are available with three geometries—LD, GP, HE—for light, general and moderately heavy milling.
