Keller Products offers an in-sump magnetic separator featuring newly designed magnetic rod assemblies. The separator consists of a rare earth magnetic rod attached to a flat circular magnet base, enabling the rod to be mounted either horizontally or vertically in the sump. It is said to be easy to install and easy to remove for cleaning. Designed to reduce the solids load on coolant pumps and in-line filters for steel or cast iron operations, the magnet is effective with both water-based coolants and cutting oil, the company says.
