Featuring a Super ZX multi-layered coating, AC510U and AC520U insert grades are engineered for roughing, finishing and medium-cut machining of super alloy materials. The coating consists of thin layers of TiAlN and AlCrN, alternately stacked to 1,000 layers, which result in high speed capabilities and wear resistance, the company says.  The AC510U grade is designed for finish turning of exotic materials, while the AC520U grade is designed for roughing and medium-cut machining applications. The grades are available in both molded and ground insert types. According to the company, ground tolerance inserts provide improved accuracy, which reduces the amount of parts scrapped, making ground inserts well-matched for high-precision applications.
