JTEKT Machinery’s WELE UG630 VMC features an advanced overhead gantry design, plus an integrated, high-precision trunnion rotary table, enabling more operations in a single setup.
For a variety of machining needs, including high-speed, heavy-duty and five-axis machining, JTEKT Machinery says its complete line of VMCs delivers lasting performance. Due to a vibration-dampening Meehanite cast iron base and large, precision spindle bearings, the machines provide increased rigidity while sustaining higher load capacities. The UG630 includes a Heidenhain TNC 640 CNC plus touchscreen display to optimize machining capabilities.
The UG630 VMC features X-axis travel of 640 mm (25.1"); Y-axis travel (spindle head) of 520 mm (20.4"); Z-axis travel of 460 mm (18.1"). The rotating range of the C-axis is a full 360 degrees. The swiveling range of the B-axis is -50 / +110 degrees is said to maximize tool access to surfaces of the workpiece.
The machine provides a rapid feed rate (X,Y,Z) of 40 (m/min) / 914 (in/min). The workpiece clamping area is 650 mm (25.5"), and the UG630 also features a 60-pocket chain-type automatic tool changer as well as a Blum probe and toolsetter package. Machining speed and power is delivered through a built-in type 38-hp spindle with a speed of 15,000 rpm.
According to the company, WELE machinery is manufactured under strict quality control. As a production standard, all metal-to-metal contact points are hand-scraped, which provides a high level of long-term accuracy and true geometry.
