Cast aluminum (356-T6), full-grip jaws as large as 24" in diameter are designed to provide minimum jaw force for thin-walled parts and to distribute the gripping pressure over more of the workpiece’s surface to help maintain repetitive accuracy. These wrap-around-style top jaws are said to reduce distortion and provide more friction for drive during turning operations.
The jaws, which must be qualified on the chuck that is to hold the workpiece, are available to fit chuck sizes ranging from 6" to 24" in diameter, in both standard-height and extra-high versions. The jaws can be adapted to mount both manual and power chucks.
