Dörries Scharmann Technology (DST), a subsidiary of Starrag Group, extends its Ecospeed range of parallel kinematics machines for productive machining of aluminum structural components in the aerospace industry. All machines in the series feature 120-kW, 83-Nm motor spindles providing speeds ranging to 30,000 rpm, and include the option of a C axis for the use of automatic, interchangeable angular milling heads.
The Ecospeed 20210 is a column milling machine with X- and Y-axis travels measuring 21,800 × 2,200 mm, with an integrated pallet changer for loading during the machining process. Typical applications include wing paneling and stringers. The second model is the Ecospeed F 1040, which features a stationary cross beam and can handle pallets as large as 1,000 × 4,000 mm. The machine is suited for machining narrow wing ribs.
