Third Wave Systems’ materials-based modeling software, AdvantEdge, is said to reduce the barriers of entry into off-line, virtual simulation of the metal cutting process. Users can reduce engineering time needed with the results analysis wizard and automated report generation for tool life and chip control. Supported processes have also been expanded to include keyway broaching, band sawing and gear machining, such as cylindrical and face hobbing.
