The Multi-DNC platform from Spectrum CNC Technologies supports Haas Machine Data Collection (MDC) by providing single-cable connectivity for machine monitoring, reporting, networking and DNC communications. The platform’s browser-based Multi-MDC monitoring software works in conjunction with the Haas "Setting 143" to enable real-time machine monitoring.
Multi-MDC's real-time dashboards and production history reports display machine usage, overall equipment effectiveness, idle time, alarms, downtime, tool usage and machine maintenance information, among other information. The data is automatically collected and output to an MS-SQL database. The software also includes customizable options to alert supervisors by text message or email in the event of workpiece count deviations or alarms.
When the Haas "Setting 143" is enabled, the control sends data through the RS-232 port to the Multi-DNC communications platform. Multi-DNC automatically turns off MDC output during uploading or downloading of CNC programs through the port, and then turns it back on afterward.
