Ingersoll’s CVD-coated series T-TINOX grades are said to improve productivity in stainless steel turning operations. The copper-colored coating resists material build-up on the cutting edge while T-Turn+ technology provides a smooth, stable edge, the company says.
The series consists of three new grades. The TT9215 grade offers high wear and chipping resistance and is suited for high speed and continuous cutting in stainless. The TT9225 grade provides balance of wear- and fracture-resistance in general-purpose stainless steel applications. Finally, the TT9235 grade provides both fracture resistance and toughness. It is ideal for interrupted cutting in stainless steel at low cutting speeds. The grades are said to offer smooth chip flow as well as improved performance and tool life.
