Portable CMMs Integrated With Inspection Software
Share

Immersion Corporation’s Microscribe family of portable CMMs has been integrated with Verisurf Software’s Common Inspection Platform software suite. The combined solution supports native import and editing of all major CAD file types. It also enables real-time measurement and analysis for parts inspection and reverse engineering projects.

The solution includes capabilities to support traditional blueprint part inspection. The model-based definition software imports CAD model specifications, including full geometric dimensioning and tolerancing descriptions. To validate geometries, users can take measurements with the CMM. These inspection points are displayed on the computer screen and tagged in red if they are out of tolerance or in green if they are within tolerance. Automatic Feature Recognition (AFR) is also included, and the software produces an inspection report for each inspected entity.
