Filtermist Ultra from Royal Products is a portable solution for oil mist and smoke that combines the company’s existing Filtermist product with cyclonic technology to remove additional pollutants. The system is top-mounted on a mobile cart with securely locking casters. Its design features a small footprint that eliminates the need for additional stands or brackets.
The unit fits behind the chip conveyor on most machines. It can be retrofitted to an existing production line or incorporated into a new one. The company says Filtermist Ultra works efficiently for applications including turning, milling, grinding and cast-iron machining.
Internal cyclone particulate removal improves particle separation, so clean air can be exhausted back to the factory floor, the company says. This helps lower the expense of heating and cooling the facility. The system can operate continuously, because it self-drains back to the machine tool coolant sump. This process also reduces coolant costs by recycling coolant rather than venting it to the atmosphere.
Filtermist Ultra exceeds current and proposed OSHA and NIOSH safety regulations. Removing oil mist reduces the risk of accidents caused by slippery residue. Preventing oily residues also reduces the time and cost of cleaning exposed surfaces. The company says the unit is ideal for machines with an internal volume greater than 60 cu. ft. It measures 18 by 20 in. and includes 20 ft. of ducting.
