The company announces its new Flex-Lok line of precision face mills with axial adjustment. The system uses a flex-type seat that is said to be easy to use and provide precise, consistent and rigid axial adjustment. The company says the near neutral rake geometry provides maximum edge strength and proper chip control that is suited for short chipping metals such as cast iron and aluminum.
PCD-tipped inserts are said to provide longer tool life in aluminum, and carbide inserts allow roughing, one-cut and finishing applications in short-chipping materials. In roughing applications where axial adjustment is not required, solid seats are provided that can replace the flex-type seat.
