Rapid Change Tooling
ITI Tooling says its Rapid Change tooling system offers a fast and safe way to exchange tools on CNC lathes. Swappable heads, static or driven, can be exchanged in as little as 7 sec, which reduces setup and tool-change times. The company’s cam-lock device allows users to release or secure swappable heads with a half-turn of an Allen wrench.

The single cam-lock device faces the machine operator every time the turret indexes and the live tool stops. According to the company, the operator does not have to lean into the machine and risk injury resulting from rotating sharp or broken tools. The tooling is available with VDI and BMT bolt-on tooling.
