Balluff’s flatpack SteelFace inductive sensors are designed for heavy manufacturing, such as welding and stamping operations. Suitable for applications in the automotive and automated assembly industries, the sensors are capable of withstanding impact, abrasion and particulate erosion, which can destroy conventional plastic-faced sensors, the company says. The sensors’ flatpack design includes a one-piece stainless steel housing with a weld slag-resistant W51 coating. They feature round corner housing, high switching frequency and 5-mm flush operating distance, and can sense virtually all metals.
