According to the company, the customized drill guidance and precision in feed features Ìý (the smallest in feed increment is 1 micron) Ìý create round holes and favorable surface finish. Combined with the small-hole drilling capabilities, the manual control features also make the machine suitable for use in research laboratories.

Inline, interchangeable vee bearings replace the conventional ball or sleeve bearings. The drills are mounted within an interchangeable drive pulley and held against the vee bearings by means of a drive belt. The company says that the drill essentially becomes its own spindle, virtually eliminating the runout that is a common factor in conventional machines using ball bearings, sleeve bearings, spindles, collets or chucks.
