Eriez has added a series of industrial-type suspended electromagnets for heavy-duty coal and mining applications to its Suspended Electromagnets (SE) 7000 model line. The magnets are designed for processing operations using wide, high-tonnage conveyor belts with deep burden depths. The magnets are available in sizes 90 in.2 (228.6 cm2) and larger. They are capable of removing oversized pieces of tramp metal that represent a hazard to downstream crushers, mills, pulverizers and grinders, as well as sharp metal that can damage or tear conveyor belts.
Self-clean styles are available, featuring a short-belt conveyor built around the magnet to automatically remove tramp iron from the magnet face. Larger SE magnets are equipped with Eriez’s external oil expansion tank to ensure that the coils are fully immersed in cooling oil for improved performance and longer life.
