5ME’s Cyclo Cool 900 series synthetic metalcutting fluids serve as an alternative to semisynthetic and soluble oils. The additive-free, low-foaming fluids use a near-neutral pH formula developed for high-heat machining of titanium, Inconel, beryllium copper, hardened steels, stainless steels and other alloys, leaving a clean, oil-free work area. At pressures as low as 300 psi, the cationic-based coolants absorb heat from the tool and the workpiece, minimizing tool-tip work hardening and premature wear. According to the company, the fluids promote longer sump life and environmental friendliness in metal removal operations because they are formulated without biocides, fungicides or aggressive pH adjusters.
The Cyclo Cool 900 series fluids are designed for high-pressure, through-tool delivery systems at pressures ranging to 2,000 psi, as well as flood coolant systems for chip flushing. The lubrication package in the series varies to cover a range of applications from light-duty, high-speed (10,000 to 15,000 rpm) aluminum milling to heavy-duty drilling and tapping of hardened steel and other hard-to-machine metals. The three formulations, Cyclo Cool 900, 910 and 920 are engineered to match the intensity of the application.
