Turning Centers Feature Y Axis, Larger Part Capacity

Doosan Machine Tools’s Lynx 2100LY series of compact turning centers with a Y-axis features a variety of tool holders (both static and live tools), a tool setter, a parts catcher and a parts conveyor.
The machines’ 15-kw (20-hp) spindle rotates at a maximum of 4,500 rpm. It features a larger turning capacity than previous models while maintaining the same footprint . An additional Y-axis and optional subspindle speed and simplify machining of parts with diverse and complex shapes, the company says.
Other standard features include a 12-station, servo-driven BMT tool turret with a half index feature in 24 positions, Easy Operation Package (EOP) software, and a CNC tailstock. The turning center is designed with a rigid bed structure and incorporates roller-type LM guides for all axes. It is available in a 6" and an 8" chuck size accommodating a turning diameter ranging to 11.8" and a turning length ranging to 20".
