Lovejoy Tool’s PCD cutting tools are said to resist wear during the machining of highly abrasive composite materials in ramping, trimming and contouring operations. PCD end mills, compression trimmers, routers and ballnose styles are available in standard and special forms, and with various grain sizes. The tools are said to minimize delamination in carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) applications and are capable of machining a variety of materials, including cast aluminum, copper, non-ferrous materials, fiber-reinforced plastics, resins, glued materials and metal matrix composites. PCD-tipped end mills are available in diameter sizes of 0.250" and larger, and can be re-tipped to maintain size and re-sharpened for increased tool life.
