Sodick offers two models of its SL-G wire EDMs, the and the , both driven by linear motors. X-, Y- and Z-axis travels measure 15.75" × 11.81" × 9.84" (400 × 300 × 250 mm) on the SL400G model, and 15.75" × 11.81" × 9.84" (400 × 300 × 250 mm) on the model. Both models feature a Smart Pulse Generator said to reduce the number of cuts necessary to achieve required accuracy and surface finish. The Smart Pulse Wire (SPW) control runs on the Windows 7 operating system. Its 19" multi-touch screen can be used as a traditional screen or like a touchscreen tablet. Screen layouts can be customized by the user.
